The National Testing Agency (NTA) has kicked off the second attempt of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2021 from today, March 16. The March attempt has commenced from today and will conclude on March 18, 2021. The March session of the engineering entrance exam is being conducted in 792 centres across the country. The first attempt of the JEE Main 2021 examination was conducted in February this year. The entrance exam is being conducted in many languages for the ease of the students.
For the March session of the JEE Main 2021 examination, a total number of 6,19,638 candidates have registered to appear, as per the official data provided by NTA. The registration window for the second session of the exam was closed on March 6, 2021.
Out of the total number of candidates, 5,79,759 students have opted to write the paper in English, 19,497 have opted for Hind and 20,382 candidates have opted for the regional languages, which have been introduced by the Ministry of Education this year.

Exam to be conducted in 13 languages

For the March session, the JEE Main 2021 examination is being conducted in six slots till March 18 in 334 cities. The exam is also being conducted in cities outside India such as Baharain, Colombo, Doha, Dubai, Kathmandu, Kualalumpur, Lagos, Muscat, Riyadh, Sharjah, Singapore, and Kuwait.
To make the JEE Main 2021 more accessible for all, the Education Ministry has also decided to conduct the entrance in 13 languages- Assamese, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, English, and Gujarati.
NTA has also issued a notice which states, “Live CCTV surveillance has been planned in all examination centres to curb malpractices in the examination. The NTA is also making arrangements for live viewing at any remote location and recording CCTVs systems of all examination centres from the control room located in the NTA premises of New Delhi.” A total of 6,52,627 candidates had registered for the February session of JEE Main 2021, which was conducted from February 23 to 26, 2021. The result of the February session of the engineering entrance exam was declared on March 8 and six students scored 100 marks.
